The Block

The Block in Wilderness offers a recently renovated villa featuring a rooftop swimming pool, sun terrace, and a lush garden, with free WiFi and a bar on site. The property includes a pool bar, outdoor seating, barbecue facilities, and an outdoor fireplace, alongside a children's playground and kids' outdoor play equipment. Accommodations include a three-bedroom vacation home, with guests noting that photographs do not capture its true splendor, and a jacuzzi is available, though the winter visit limited its use. The villa provides air conditioning, heating, and a private bathroom, with family rooms and a designated smoking area for convenience. Guests can relax by the pool or on the terrace while enjoying views of the lake, garden, and mountains, and the surrounding area offers hiking trails, fishing, and cycling opportunities. The Block is located 28 km from George Airport, with free on-site private parking, and is rated 8.5/10 on Booking.com. The property is gated, offering a sense of security, and staff, including host Siobhan, are noted for their helpfulness. Daily housekeeping, laundry, ironing, and luggage storage services are available, and grocery deliveries can be arranged. The Block's location is a bit outside the city, either George or Mossel Bay, but guests find it worth the stay. A continental breakfast is available each morning at The Block.
